In the land of Giants - 42.71 sets new Record

Ardmore,OK - Weighing a 40lb sack is something that every tournament bass fisherman dreams of. Doing it twice? Well, That is just legendary. Reaching that epic benchmark is exactly what this two man team from Southern Oklahoma has done... Again.
After weighing in a mind boggling limit of 41.92 last season on Lake Arbuckle, Marco Vaca and Doyle Idleman have once again eclipsed the the 40lb mark with their latest tournament feat. A limit weigh in of 42.71lbs on March 23rd captured the team 1st place in the Future Bass Trails, Arbuckle/Murray division season opener. Not only did the massive limit award them 1st place for the tournament but it also allowed the duo to claim the record for the largest 5 bass limit in the State of Oklahoma. Set just last January on this very lake, Arbuckle yielded a 42.04lb record stringer to former Elite Series angler Jeff Reynolds and his partner Johnny Thompson. We all have to feel for the guys bringing in a whopping 34.16lbs (Terry Alsup / Brad Hill) and 32lbs (Bill Chapman / Johnny Owens) to the weigh-in and receiving 2nd and 3rd Place. (Respectively)
On a day where you had to bring 43 lbs to win a tournament you know that something very special was going on for the winning team. So for now ,at least, the rest of us will just have to keep dreaming.
